06/27/2006

The “Transatlantic” is an annual award given in Krakow by the Book Institute for the best popularization of Polish language, culture and literature in the world. The laureates of the Transatlantic award may be translators, publishers, critics, cultural animators, all those for whom language and culture are a priceless treasure. Last year, the Transatlantic award was given to Henryk Berezka, an outstanding translator of Polish literature into German. This year, the award went to Anders Bodegard – a Swedish Slavist and translator of Polish and French literature into Swedish.
